Greetings to the Year 2014, which is, according to Tibetan calendar, Wooden Horse Year, year of the Wooden Horse.
May everything be auspicious for all of you in this year. Everything of the past year which has been positive, continuously mature and flourish, and everything of the past year which has been not so harmonious and also suffering and loss, may that be expelled and transformed.
And may there be peace, prosperity in your life and life of everyone on this earth.
We all have wishes, all kinds of wishes. But some of our wishes are profound and good. Profound and good in the sense they are beneficial to us and meaningful to us and meaningful to everyone else. And some of our wishes are not meaningful to us, in fact, harmful to us, and also not meaningful to others and rather harmful to others. All those positive, meaningful, beneficial wishes of each and every one of you be fulfilled.
And may there be peace, harmony, prosperity, happiness and wisdom on this earth. For that what is needed the most is compassion, kindness, understanding, devotion and wisdom. May that be increased and developed within each and every one; me, you and everyone.
Buddha bless you.
Buddha bless you.
Buddha bless you.

I wish to convey my best wishes to everyone
for a happy new yearthe Wood Male Horse year
in the 17th sixty-year cycle of the Tibetan calendar,
and the year 2014 in the Western calendar.
I offer my sincere prayers that,
during this new year that is beginning, for all of you,
your minds will turn to the dharma,
the dharma will become your path,
your path will eliminate confusion,
and confusion will arise instead as pristine awareness,
as the incomparable Dakpo Lhajey, Lord Gampopa, said.
I offer my prayers that, throughout your lives,
all your wishes are realized in harmony with the dharma.
We all have in our minds many ideas,
we have many plans, we have many hopes.
But while some of these are in harmony with the dharma,
some are at odds with the dharma.
Some of the things we wish for,
if those wishes are accomplished,
will only ensure that we ourselves are unhappy
and are drawn to lower states of rebirth,
and that others are unhappy
and are drawn to lower states of rebirth.
Such things can happen.
Throughout beginningless time until the present,
we have remained in samsara,
solely trying to see
if we can accomplish our own selfish goals.
Hasn't that been the case?
Now, among all of the many wishes and hopes you all have,
it is my prayer that you will accomplish
those which are in harmony with the dharma,
ensuring that you will be happy and joyful in this lifetime,
ensuring that things
will go well and improve in future lifetimes,
and ensuring that ultimately you will attain buddhahood.
I offer my prayers that all these thoughts and these hopes
will be accomplished for you in harmony with the dharma.
To say nothing of praying for you to enjoy long lives,
freedom from illness, good harvests, and so forth,
I offer my prayers of aspiration
for the benefit of the entire world,
so that not just human beings,
but all beings of the six classes
enjoy happiness and freedom from suffering.
For me there are only the sources of refuge, nothing else.
So I offer my prayers
to the Three Jewels and the Three Roots,
and so make my aspirations:
When happy,
I dedicate that wellbeing to gather the accumulations.
May benefit and wellbeing fill all of space!
When unhappy, I take all suffering on myself.
May the oceans of suffering that is samsara become emptied!
May the Three Jewels always protect you!
May the Three Roots always protect you!
May everything be auspicious and excellent!
