On 12 March 2015, His Holiness Dalai Lama first visited the nuns' retreat center and then the monks' retreat center where both monks and nuns were practicing the Naro Meditation in their respective retreat centers. In both retreat centers, His Holiness recited brief consecration prayers.

Upon reaching the newly constructed Palpung Lungrig Jampal Ling Institute, His Holiness unknotted the ribbon at the door with Guru Vajradhara beside him. The doors of the new shrine hall were opened and His Holiness proceeded directly to the front of the hall where His Holiness recited consecration verses before the statues of Buddha Shakyamuni, Manjushree, Guru Rinpoche, Marpa lotsawa and Situ Panchen Chokyi Jungney.

Once His Holiness Dalai Lama was seated on the throne, Guru Vajradhara made a traditional mandala offering and requested to turn the wheel of Dharma. His Holiness bestowed the long life empowerment and Bodhisattva vow and teaching of Bodhichita and oral transmission of the text of the "Lamp for the Path of Enlightenment". During the detailed transmission, His Holiness reminded every devotee, "As soon as you wake up in the morning think of Bodhichitta. During the day try to remember it. When you sleep in the evening, think of Bodhichitta again. It takes effort but if you do this you will gradually develop a sense of Bodhicitta which will grow and eventually arise spontaneously. As the "Lamp for the Path of Enlightenment" just showed us, transforming the mind requires a broad understanding of the Dharma, not just a close acquaintance with some pith instructions."

Following Guru Vajradhara's advice to Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat and its branches on the importance of conducting the long life ceremony in the traditional way, from 6-12 March 2015, more than a thousand members of sangha including Rinpoches, Khenpos, Lamas, monks and nuns conducted the puja of Buddha Amitayus with pure devotion and dedication towards His Holiness Dalai Lama who is the protector of all beings. On the last day of the puja, 12 March 2015, after the empowerment and transmissions from His Holiness, Guru Vajradhara offered the traditional long life offerings to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

The two day auspicious visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama was the most unforgettable blessing for Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat and its affiliated and concern monasteries and dharma centers world-wide.
