Billing Paragliding Association requested Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa to be their Honorable and distinguished Guest for the opening ceremony of AAI paragliding World Cup 2015 in South Asia and to give blessing for the entire team. As per their request, Guru Vajradhara blessed the opening ceremony on the 23rd of October and gave profound reflections and blessing so that the participants were overwhelmed by the depth of the words of wisdom.
The venue for this most significant event took place at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat as per the wishes of all the esteemed organizations.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Ashok Gajapati RajuPusapati - Honorable Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Govt of India.
His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa-Supreme Head of the Palpung Monastic Institution of Buddhism, Mr.Sudhir Sharma-Honorable Minister of Housing, Urban Development & Town and Country Planning and President of Billing Paragliding Association and Officials of AAI-FAI and others dignitaries and participants and many distinguished guests and all the paragliding pilots from 31 Countries participated in the event.
The ceremony began with prayer for world peace by Palpung Monks (Grammy winner in 2004) followed by culture shows from various artists.
The opening ceremony of the AAI Billing Paragliding World Cup 2015 in South Asia concluded very auspiciously at the sacred environment of the Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat in Himachal Pradesh, India.
