On February 8th, the morning of the first day of the New Year of the Kalachakra astrological tradition, Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat began Losar celebrations at 8 AM when the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa was escorted in a traditional ceremony to the main Shrine and ascended to the Vajra throne. Tulkus, Sangha and lay devotees received blessing from Kenting Tai Situpa and then followed with prayers and an elaborate tea ceremony. Many families from nearby Tibetan settlements and local communities also joined in the celebrations.
