At Palpung Sherabling Monastic seat the traditional Mahakala Grand Puja and two-day Vajra Nytham (Lama dance) was performed according to the Palpung tradition of rituals to pacify obstacles from arising in the New Year and to bring peace and harmony in the lives of all sentient beings and in the environment.

On February 8th the entire congregation of ordained monks, nun and lay devotees received the blessings of The Red Vajra Crown Ceremony and Long Life Empowerment of Buddha Amitayus from Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa in order for them to have a healthy, happy and successful life, without any hindrances for the entire coming year, with the means of the wholesome conduct of Dharma practices.

This February day of 2016 we began the early morning celebrations of Male Fire Monkey New Year.

Guru Vajradhara ascended the throne in the traditional way and led the ritual prayers along with offerings of tea and rice ceremony and long live prayers to the Lineage Masters.

This was followed by receiving blessings from Guru Vajradhara, commencing the beginning the first day of the New Year!
