In 2015 as per vision and guidelines of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama a focused group of intellectual monks representing the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism and the Bon School started discussions on the Madhyamika view at the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery – Gyuto Tantric college in Dharamsala.

Following this the second round of discussions were held at Palpung Lungrig Jampal Ling college of Buddhist Higher studies in Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat on the 21st of March 2016 for three days.

It was organized jointly by Department of Religious cultural central Tibetan administration and the Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat of Palpung Institutions .On the first day of opening ceremony chief guest was Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. He was joined by Mr. Pema Choejor the religious and cultural minister of Tibetan administration.

Guru Vajradhara briefly introduced the history and responsibility of Palpung Institutions and elaborated on the importance of engaging in these discussions by the four major school of Tibetan Buddhism and the Bon school and to follow as per vision and wisdom guidance of His Holiness Dalai Lama.

Guru Vajradhara these religious and philosophical discussions also fulfilled the definition of Palpung(Mount of Excellence). He also briefly mentioned the 8 practice lineage and 10 academic lineage of Vajra Yana Buddhism, and 9 yanas of Buddhism.

Mr. Pema Chojor minister of religious department of Tibetan administration also spoke similarly on the importance of discussion by scholars of the four schools and the Bon School to fulfill the wishes of His Holiness Dalai Lama.
