Following the advice and instructions of Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, in the evening of February 23 the Palpung Sherabling Administration organized a prayers ceremony to pacify the recent coronavirus outbreak. The ceremony took place in the monastery courtyard, where extensive clouds of offerings to please the four classes of guests comprised the general traditional outer offerings, series of butter lamps, select white and sweet foods, the best and softest cloth, and sacred medicinal substances. Guru Vajradhara presided over the gathering of Tulkus, Lamas, Khenpos and the entire monastic community, along with many local and visiting monastic and lay devotees, performing a fire puja with offerings to enlightened and samsaric guests for the purpose of purification, accumulation and amendment, with aspirations and prayers for the living and deceased who have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak, and special dedications for a swift pacification of this dangerous and harmful infectious disease.
