From March 4, 2020 onwards, the entire monastic community of Palpung Sherabling is participating in a seven-day Monlam, a prayer festival which includes the offering of over 200,000 butter lamps, as well as performing recitations of the five aspiration prayers, such as the King of Prayers and so forth. This festival of purification and accumulation is dedicated to the welfare of all living beings in general, and specifically: to the living and deceased connected to our Monastic Seat; for the pacification of sicknesses, famine, wars and other calamities of the present degenerate time; and for the flourishing of the Dharma.
