In response to the Kagyupa International Monlam Trust's request, Guru Vajradhara His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa conferred the empowerment of the tenth level bodhisattva Lord Maitreya at 11 in the morning on January 16, 2024, at the Kagyu Monlam Pavilion in Bodhgaya. In attendance were Kyabje Jonang Gyaltsab Rinpoche, Kyabje Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche and Kyabje Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, along with an audience of over ten thousand monastic and lay devotees. This included Kagyu tulkus, lamas, khenpos, monks, and nuns, as well as monastics and laypeople from all corners of the earth.

Guru Vajradhara bestowed the empowerment to each participant by walking between the rows of devotees completely filling the inside of the pavilion, as well as the space around it. To conclude, Guru Vajradhara made a special and extensive dedication for the flourishing of the Buddha's teachings of all traditions, the longevity and thriving activities of the teaching holders, and the well-being of all countries in the world.
