On July 6, 2025, following the completion of the official birthday celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala, the Hon'ble Shri Sonam Lama, Minister of the Ecclesiastical Department of Sikkim, made a special visit to Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. During his visit, the Minister lit a butter lamp and paid homage to the sacred representations, including the principal statue of Lord Maitreya in the main temple. Before departing, he also toured the monastery's inner and outer facilities and engaged in discussions with the monastery's staff and administrators.
