In accordance with the prophecy of the great Kathok Rigzin Tsewang Norbu, the omniscient mahapandita, the 8th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Chökyi Jungne, a holder of the jewel treasury of the Tibetan civilization, established the Vajrakilaya Temple at Palpung Thubten Chökhor Ling Monastic Seat in the eighteenth century and instituted the practice of the Vajrakilaya drubchen ritual. Following this tradition, Guru Vajradhara His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa re-established the Vajrakilaya drubchen at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat in 2021, and since then, this sacred practice has been performed periodically.
Beginning on October 11, 2025, the monastic seat's Vajra Masters presided over a twelve-day drubchen ritual based on the mandala of the Kilaya Activity deities of the supremely profound deity, Glorious Vajrakilaya. This great accomplishment practice was performed by the monastic seat's tulkus, lamas, khenpos, and acharyas, together with the entire monastic community, in the main shrine hall of Palpung Sherabling Monastic College.
The ritual was conducted according to the gurus' pith instructions, combined with the ritual tradition of the lineage and complete in all its aspects. The elaborate ceremony, performed in full accordance with the Dharma, encompassed the preliminary land consecration, the establishment of outer and inner boundaries, the drawing of the mandala and arrangement of its ornaments, as well as the visualizations, meditations, and recitations of the actual sadhana. It also included the fire offering to accomplish the four activities, the empowerment, the ritual for receiving siddhis, the butter lamp prayer, one hundred thousand ganachakra feasts, the smoke offering ritual, and the concluding offerings and praises.
