Happy New Year.
This is the beginning of the lunar calendar Water Snake Year. At the same time, this is the beginning of Year 2013. I am very happy to celebrate with all of you. And Year 2013 should be a wonderful year, productive year, happy year. And we all should learn from all the good things that we have achieved in our past year, and all the mistakes that we have done in the past year. We learn from them and we become better in everything in this year, and years to come. The lunar year and the solar year it has beginnings because way the universe, the stars and the planets move, which creates all the seasons, so it repeats every year, therefore, there is the beginning of one year, and there is the end of another year; it is real. It is relative truth, of course. And this relative truth, this real new year, we should make it a kind of occasion and opportunity to make a past and future relevant and connect. Because whatever happened in the past, that will result in the future. At the same time, what we have learnt from the past, we can use it to make future better. Spiritually as well as in an ordinary, mundane manner. I wish you all to have very happy new year.

And truth is very simple: we all like to be happy, nobody likes to suffer. That is truth. So that bless you. May all of you and me also, may we all be happy, and may we all be free from suffering. Our happy life and healthy life should be used for betterment of ourselves and betterment of others, then we can say purpose of life is served, at least for one more year.
