The 7th of February ,2008 was the last day of the year according the Kalachakra calendar. It was also the first day of New Year according the Phuglug tradition of the Tibetan Calendar. That morning thousands of people came to Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat and received blessings from Red Vajra Crown Ceremony and Long Life Empowerment from Kenting Tai Situpa. Receiving this blessing on that day is considered especially purifying of our negative deeds from the passing year, while the beginning of the New Year is welcomed in with positive aspirations.
