The Padma Vajra Puja was first performed by Guru Padmasambhava just after King Trisong Deutsen had passed away. Last week the ritual was performed at Palpung Sherabling over three days, ending on June 1, 2008, for the purification of the defilements of the deceased. The benefit of this ritual is immeasurable. Padmasambhava himself said that if someone is able to come into contact with, or enter the Mandala of this practice, it would be impossible that they remain in Samsara. This ritual has been dedicated to all people who have lost their lives in recent natural disasters around the world, with the aspiration that they may have peace and a better rebirth. The puja was headed by H.E. 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche, who concluded the ceremonies with prayers and aspirations for all sentient beings who have died in the recent past.
