On June 3rd, 2008. His Holiness Sakya Trizin, the supreme head of Sakya Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism accompanied by His Eminence Sakya Dungsay Rinpoche and His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche, arrived at Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat at the invitation of the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa.

Representative's of Palpung Monastery went to Dzongsar Institute at Chauntra where a Scarf offering was made to His Holiness Sakya Trizin and accompanying Eminences. A second welcoming ceremony started from the first welcome gate at palpung Sherab Ling, spear headed by the young monks of Palpung Sherab Ling School and continued down the road by monks of Palpung sherabling Shedra Lungrig Jampal Ling and then by all the monks of the main monastery.

At the main gate of Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat, the 12th Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche welcomed His Holiness and His accompanying Eminences with an elaborate traditional monastic ceremony.

After His Holiness’ arrival He was escorted directly to main shrine hall of Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat where He offered three prostrations to the Statue of the Lord Maitreya and scarves at all the shrines. Then His Holiness took His seat on the throne.

The chanting started with traditional welcoming prayers offered by Rinpoches, Lamas and monks while the 12th Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche offered an elaborate Ceremony offering Statue, Text and Stupa to His Holiness Sakya Trizin along with other offerings. The Monastery Tulkus and Khenpos followed kind by making mandala and body, speech, mind offering's to His Eminence Dungsay Rinpoche and His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche and offerings to Gyalyum Chenmo and Dhagmo Kusho. These offering were followed by a traditional Tibetan tea and Rice ceremony. Additionally, the Sangha also prayed for the long life of His Holiness Sakya Trizin, using a text written by Kenting Tai Situpa. Afterwards all the ordained Sangha and devotees went to receive blessings from His Holiness.

After the traditional ceremony and blessings His Holiness and 12th Kenting Tai Situpa spent some joyful time together on the third floor Residence.

Meanwhile His Eminence Dungsay Rinpoche, Gyalyum Chenmo and Dhagmo Kusho who were among His Holiness' entourage, offered Mandala body, speech and mind to the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa on behalf of His Holiness’ Administrative staff. His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche had a separate meeting with the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa for some time as well.

At 12:30 p.m.His Holiness Sakya Trizin, His Eminence Dungsay Rinpoche, His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche, Gyalyum Chenmo and Dhagmo Kusho were the guests of the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa and lunch was served in private dine room.

After Lunch His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche left palpung Sherab Ling to for Dzongsar Institute to give more teachings to His devotees as per His schedule.

His Holiness Sakya Trizin and the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa spent more time privately and meanwhile His Eminence Dungsay Rinpoche and Dhagmo Kusho rested at Zimchungs.

At around 2:00 p.m. as requested by the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa, His Holiness Sakya Trizin with His Eminence Dungsay Rinpoche blessed the two main golden relic stupas of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa and of the 11th Kenting Tai Situ Pema Wangchok Gyalpo. These two stupas are enshrined to the right and left of the central Buddha Maitreya Statue the main shrine Hall of Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat.

From there, His Holiness with His Eminence was invited to the Golden Stupa Temple(SERDUNG LHAKHANG) – five minutes drive from the main monastery - accompanied by the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa. His Holiness Sakya Trizin and H.E. blessed the grand golden Stupa of the 8th Kenting Tai Situ Choekyi Jungney, the founder of the Palpung Lineage and one of the most renowned and Enlightened Tibetan scholar of his time. The Golden Stupa Temple also enshrines all the statues of Kenting Tai Situpa's Lineage.

After blessing the Golden StupaTemple, His Holiness and His Eminence with Kenting Tai Situpa spent some more time together over refreshments, after which His Holiness departed from Palpung Sherab Ling for Dzongsar Institute at Chauntra. This is 3rd visited of the H.H. Sakya Trizin to Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. The memory of this most auspicious visit of His Holiness Sakya Trizin to Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat in the presence of 12th Kenting Tai Situpa was quite simply, unforgettable.
