PHUDRAB CHODPA, the grand fire Puja offering is one of the main practices performed at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. This offering to all the Buddhas, Boddhisattvas, Mahasiddhas, Lamas, Yidams, Dharma Protectors, Dakas and Dakinis is made from time to time on special occasions at Palpung Sherabling. While serving as an offering to the holy Sangha, this fire puja also provides a grand gift to all the beings in the lower realms who suffer from various different negative Karmas.

The text for this offering was written by the Vajradhara the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa. On October 14th, 2008, this very auspicious full moon day, this grand fire puja was led by His Eminence Jamagon Kongtrul Rinpoche, His Eminence Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche. They in turn were joined by all the Rinpoches, Lamas, Monks and Nuns at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Courtyard.

The benefit of performing such a grand fire puja is very profound and includes balancing the outer world helping to reduce unexpected disasters and generally creating more harmony within the environment. At the same time it serves to balance the inner world of all living beings helping to reduce unexpected physical and mental diseases. The core benefit of this practice is to bring this world of appearances and the beings within it, to the highest possible level of health. This general well-being then provides the conditions to increase loving kindness and compassion and finally supports the realization of each individual of his or her own perfect awakened nature.
