October 28th at 9:00 am the 308th birthday anniversary of the great 8th Tai Situpa Choekyi Jungney, was commemorated at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. The ceremony was lead by the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa in the presence of H.E Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche , H.E Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche and many other Rinpoches and devotees. One of the most remarkable Buddha activities of the 8th Tai Situpa was his establishment of the Printing Press of Palpung Thubten Choekhor Ling. It was this Printing Press that held the second largest woodblock after that in the Dherge printing Press. One of the current 12th Kenting Tai Situpa's most important visions is revive this activity through reprinting and scanning the original texts of entire Eight lineages of Vajrayana Buddhism. This activity first began with reprinting all the texts which are original to the Palpung Printing Press. The most recent work includes the reprinting of 32 volumes but more than 270 volumes are still left to complete. These 32 volumes now reprinted are currently being distributed to related Rinpoches and monasteries and libraries. On the morning of October 28th 2008, Khenpo Gyaltsen Phuntsok made a speech in which he discussed the progress of this publishing work and then the Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa conducted the opening ceremony for those Texts which are completed. He then distributed these texts to all the Rinpoches and monasteries the representatives who were Palpung Sherabling at that time. A traditional Tea and saffron Rice ceremony was made and then an elaborate speech was given by Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa and the day end joy ,happiness and appreciation with the Buddha activities of Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa.
