As a result of numerous requests from many individuals wishing to receive ordination as novice monks and nuns, Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa ordained 21 monks and 5 nuns on the morning of January 17th 2009 in Delhi. That same afternoon His Eminence Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche paid a visit to Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa at his residence during which they spent several delightful hours together as a father and son might. At 4:00 PM Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa taught on Violence and Peace, at the Tushita Center in Delhi at the request of its directors. Kenting Tai Situpa explored this subject profoundly sharing many of his own personal experiences from his work for Peace. At the same time Kenting Tai Situpa encouraged students to seek ACTIVE PEACE rather just Passive Peace. In essence this means that categorically avoiding war does not mean that we are not still destroying this planet. If we don’t care about the environment and about educating ourselves and if we continue to use this planet as we have done so far, without regard or responsibility then we are still actively destroying this world. Religious harmony, education, environment and cognizance are the responsibility of each individual and not just government. There have also been many requests from many novice monks to have full ordination (Gelong) from Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. So, these ordinations took place on January 18, 2009 between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM. There were 34 novice monks who received full ordination and Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa also advised them on the importance of maintaining these vows and encouraged them to keep them with utmost admiration. That same afternoon some students of Karma Triyana Monastery from Woodstock, New York came with the Venerable Bardo Rinpoche to receive the blessing from Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. Later the Venerable Bardo Rinpoche spent some private time with Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa.
