From January 18, 2009 through January 26, 2009 the grand Puja of Guru Dorje Drolod has been performed at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. This ritual is part of the yearly practice done prior to the start of the Tibetan New Year. Every year, two major pujas are conducted at Palpung Sherabling Monastic at this time. The ceremonies alternate between the grand Puja of Guru Dorje Drolod and the grand Puja of Phurba Tordhog. The purpose of these special pujas is to remove the unnecessary obstacles, to eliminate man-made and natural disasters and to bring more positive conditions and peace for all sentient beings and the environment.
