Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa went into retreat at Palpung SherabLing monastic seat, starting Febuary 24, 2009 for an uncertian period. Kenting Tai Situpa goes into retreat each year whenever the time is available.

There is a special objective for Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa's retreat this year. According the lunar calendar, relatively speaking, a male in his 25th year faces some obstacles. They are not necessarily big obstacles, but since His Holiness Pal Gyalwang Karmapa Orgyen Trinley Dorje is now 25 years old, Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa has chosen to do retreat sessions focused on the two deities Vajra Kilaya and White Tara who subdue obstacles and bring protection for long life. These practices are aimed at supporting the Buddha activities to benefit all sentient beings and, for His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa's His Long Life for the benefit of all sentient beings.
