The yearly Palpung Monlam Chenmo started on March 5th, 2009 at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat following the Birthday celebration of the Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. The Palpung Monlam Chenmo was established by 8th Kenting Tai Situ Choekyi Jungney at Plapung Thubten Choekhor Ling Monastic Seat of the Kagyu Lineage more then 300 years ago. This noble activity is carried on today at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat by the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tia Situpa. One hundred thousand butter lamps are offered during prayers. The yearly dedication of this Monlam is that limitless sentient beings awake from thier ignorance and achieve the fully awakened mind as did Lord Buddha bringing peace and harmony to entire world. This Palpung Monlam Chenmo will finish on the 15th day of 1st month of lunar calendar - Wednesday March 11th, 2009.。
