
From May 27-29, for three days, Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa broke his retreat and gave teachings to a group of students from Palpung Shedrup Choeling Buddhist Center in Taipei, headed by the Venerable Khenpo Lodhen. The teaching had been arranged for many months. At the completion of the teachings, on the evening of May 29th, Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa went back into strict uninterrupted retreat until August, 2009. The schedule for May 27th included a detailed teaching on Refuge according the Theravadin tradition followed by the refuge ceremony in the morning and a teaching on Four Noble Truths in the afternoon. On the 28th, the morning session consisted of a teaching on the mind of the Bodhisattva and Bodhicitta according the Mahayana tradition with a transmission of the Bodhisattva vow, followed by a teaching on the Six Paramitas in the afternoon. On May 29th the Empowerment of the Buddha of Compassion (Chenrezik) with a detailed teaching about the Vajrayana Tradition was given in the morning, while the transmission and instruction on the four-armed Chenrezik Sadhana was taught in the afternoon.
