Palpung Munishasan Dharma Chakra Sangh charitable society organizes a free Medical Eye Camp each year to benefit needy people all over India.

This year the Charitable Society held the eye camp over 3 days from July 17-19, 2010 at Jimoor (Gemur) Lahual and Spiti.

This year's team, headed by Dr. Rohit Sharma, the main eye surgeon, included a full medical team from the Rotary Eye Hospital Maranda in Palampur along with our monastery doctor. During the 3 day eye-camp, 335 patients were screened by doctors at Jispa and 16 patients received eye operations at PHC Gemur. Over 120 pairs of eye glasses were distributed and needed medicines given to patients. In all the camp was a great success this year thanks to the many supporters who made it possible.

Palpung Munishasan Dharma Chakra Sangh will continue this kind of service in the future under the blessing of the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa.
