The 58th birthday of Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, which is the eight day of the first lunar month, fell on March 13th this year. Because Guru-ji remains in retreat until next month when his long retreat comes to a close, the celebration took place without him this year. All the Rinpoches, Sangha and lay students at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat gathered together early Sunday morning to sing long life prayers. That evening they held a simple western style party sharing cakes and sincere prayers and dedications made for the long life of Guru Vajradhara with wishes that his Buddha activities will flourish without hindrance; benefit all mother sentient beings and uphold the Golden Rosary lineage of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni until the fifth Buddha, Maitreya, appears and turns the wheel of Dharma. Palpung Centers around the world along with well-wishers everywhere, celebrated the birthday of their magnificent Guru Vajradhara with heartfelt devotion and utmost sincere dedications.
