The 7th National Short and Documentary Film Festival was organized by The JD Center of Art in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India from 3 – 5 February 2013 on Art & Artists with a focus on Buddhist Arts. The Film Festival invited monks of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat to display traditional thangkas and a sand mandala, and Lama Tenam, Private Secretary of Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, to join the inauguration ceremony for the festival and give a talk on culture and tradition of Buddhism. Many well-known filmmakers and artists participated in the three-day event and all of them enjoyed meeting with Lama Tenam. Eminent Artist, Jatin Dass, founder of The JD Center of Art and organizer of the 7th National Short and Documentary Film Festival inspired the monks led by Lama Tenam who represented Palpung Sherab Ling Monastic Seat with their simplicity and joy. The two artists who accompanied Lama Tenam from Palpung Sherbling Monastic Seat were Uchung Dawa and Phurpa Gyalpo who displayed a sand mandala and all the viewers were overwhelmed by their concentration and diligence.

Lama Tenam also went on pilgrimage to the three major holy sites of Buddhist Ratnagiri, Udayagiri and Lalitagiri. On the last day of the film festival, Lama Tenam and the monks visited the museum at Bhubaneshwar city and got the opportunity to receive the blessing of Buddha’s relic. The principal Secretary to the Department of Odisha Tourism warmly received Lama Tenam and presented a book on the Buddhist Heritage of Odisha.
