The Maha Pandita 8th Tai Situpa Choekyi Jungney started the Palpung Monlam Chenmo at the Palpung Thubten Choekhor Ling Monasic Seat and since then it has continued throughout the Kenting Tai Situpa lineage and all other masters who follow the tradition of Palpung. Palpung Monlam Chenmo is conducted every year on the first month of lunar calculation which is called 1st month of Miracles where in 511 BC the Lord Buddha having displayed various miracles tamed heretics. For seven days from 9-15 of the 1st month of Miracles (19 - 25 February 2013), Palpung Monlam Chenmo was conducted at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat dedicated for all sentient beings to remove all relative obstacles and achieve the ultimate peace and harmony for every living being.
