Starting from the 24th of February 2015, in line with the vision of Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, Very Venerable Gyalton Rinpoche and Very Venerable Thutop Rinpoche initiated methods to help care for the environment surrounding the Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. All members of Sangha and lay students lead by Tulkus and Khenpos cleaned for the whole day; for example, by collecting paper and plastic in the area. To continue to reinforce efforts into the future, Omzed Gopal, one of the senior chanting masters, was appointed to oversee the task of caring for the environment around the monastic area. Bins were distributed for each group of monks to keep recyclable and other waste separate and rules were enforced not allowing garbage to be thrown outside.
