The 8th day of the first month of the female wood sheep year of the Tibetan lunar calendar which corresponds to the 26th of February 2015 was Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa's 62nd birthday. Early in the morning, all the Sangha gathered in the main shrine hall of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat to conduct long life prayers followed by the traditional tea ceremony. Guru Vajradhara advised the administration of the monastery that it is not necessary to hold elaborate birthday celebrations every year and so the arrangement was simple. In the evening, Guru Vajradhara kindly joined dinner with all members of Sangha and guests and there was a cake cutting ceremony. In the end, the school monks of Palpung Sherabling Monastic School performed a culture show with their pure heart as an offering on the ocassion of Guru Vajradhara's 62nd birthday.
