Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa graced the first medicine and astrology graduation ceremony at the Palpung University of Buddhist Sciences on June 15. At 9 am he was welcomed to the main temple by the PUBS teachers and students, along with Tulkus, Lamas, Khenpos, monastics and lay people. The ceremony began with a mandala offering, which was followed by a traditional offering of Tibetan tea and sweet rice and an explanation of the five auspicious circumstances. Then the students offered visual presentations of the sciences of sanskrit, medicine and astrology, which introduced the specific characteristics of each science.

Guru Vajradhara congratulated the students who passed the entry exams for the second batch of studies of Buddhist sciences, bestowed diplomas to those who have completed their studies and reappointed the teachers for each of the sciences. He gave a talk on the importance of Buddhist sciences and advice on what to practice and what to avoid. He also visited and consecrated the exhibition rooms, classrooms and the medicine garden, and concluded the ceremony with aspiration prayers.
