The Palpung Sorig Therapy Centre was established in the Tibetan settlement of Bir with the vision of preserving and spreading Tibetan traditional sciences of medicine and astrology, while also contributing to the welfare of the local community. After completing the necessary preparations, its inauguration took place on September 29, 2023, in the presence of Lama Ratna, the retreat master of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat, heads and representatives of the four divisions of Bir Tibetan Colony, directors from several education departments of the monastic seat, and members of the local community.

The ceremony commenced with the chanting of "The Verses of the Eight-Fold Auspiciousness" and a traditional offering of tea and sweets. This was followed by an address from the principal of Palpung University of Buddhist Sciences and an introductory speech by the resident physician. The inauguration was auspiciously concluded with a tour of the facility and a tasting of various herbal teas prepared by the university's medicine production facility.
