In response to an invitation from the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa visited Magadha University at 5 am on January 14, 2024. There, the IBC and Bodh Gaya Marathon Committee organized the inaugural ceremony for the first-ever Bodh Gaya Marathon—Run for Global Peace. The event aimed to promote the Buddha’s teachings and various sacred sites associated with the Buddha's life. Runners from six countries participated in this run for peace and unity. Guru Vajradhara served as the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony. He flagged off the marathon and, accompanied by the monastic seat's monks, chanted verses of auspiciousness and prayers for the welfare of the Dharma and sentient beings.
