In response to the request of Palpung Tharlam Chötsok (Palpung Tharlam Buddhist Center) and the monastic communities and people of the Chango region in Kinnaur, His Eminence Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, a luminary of the practice lineage teachings, departed from Reckong Peo on September 5, 2024, and after passing through various villages and blessing devotees along the way, he arrived at Palpung Thubten Ozer Rabgye Ling in Chango.
The monastic communities and people of the Chango region welcomed Rinpoche with an elaborate golden procession, offering the mandala, the three sacred representations, and ceremonial tea and sweet rice. Following that, Rinpoche granted a public audience.
On the 6th, Rinpoche presided over the One Hundred Million Mani Mantras Accumulation gathering at Palpung Thubten Ozer Rabgye Ling. In the afternoon, devotees presented a cultural performance showcasing local traditions.
The next day, at the Kalachakra Ground in Chango, Rinpoche gave teachings on the Three Excellences and provided meditation instructions to the public. At noon, he visited Lang Monastery, where he performed a consecration ceremony, and in the evening, he proceeded to Khargo Monastery, where he spent the night.
On the morning of the following day, Rinpoche continued the teachings on the Three Excellences and meditation instructions at the Kalachakra Ground. In the afternoon, he presided over a Buddhist symposium organized by Palpung Nangten Thösam Chötsok (Palpung Buddhist Study and Practice Centre).
On the 9th, at the Kalachakra Ground, he bestowed the empowerment of the exalted Avalokiteshvara to a large gathering of devotees. Rinpoche's five-day Dharma program concluded with the monastic communities and the public offering a mandala and the three sacred representations as a gesture of gratitude.
