On August 9, 2025, corresponding to the fifteenth day of the sixth Tibetan month, Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat's entire monastic community gathered in the main shrine hall to commemorate the parinirvana of Lord Gampopa, the sun-like heart disciple of the lord of yogis Milarepa, and to mark the holy day of the miraculous appearance of the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje's face in the moon.
The ceremony began with a webcast of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje's teaching on the life and deeds of Lord Gampopa. Following this, the assembly performed a ganachakra offering based on the Gampopa Guru Sadhana, recited Rangjung Dorje's three short treatises, and offered butter lamps. The observances concluded with the traditional "Full Moon" ceremonial music played on the monastery's rooftop.
