On May 31, 2026, corresponding to the fifteenth day of the Saga Dawa month of the Tibetan calendar—the sacred occasion commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of our compassionate Teacher, the Buddha—an exceptionally auspicious day marked by favorable astrological and interdependent conditions, Guru Vajradhara His Holines Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa presided over the grand inauguration ceremony of the His Eminence Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche's newly completed Tergar Osel Ling Monastery in Nepal.

In the morning, Guru Vajradhara performed a consecration ceremony for the monastery's principal sacred representations, headed by the statue of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni, together with the other representations of enlightened body, speech, and mind. The ceremony included the bathing ritual, consecration, and prayers of aspiration invoking the power of truth.

Gathered for the occasion were eminent tulkus, khenpos, and spiritual teachers from the various Buddhist traditions without sectarian distinction, distinguished representatives of the national and local governments, delegates from affiliated organizations, as well as disciples and faithful lay and monastic devotees who had gathered from both near and far. Amid this vast assembly, Guru Vajradhara was formally welcomed with the scattering of flowers and auspicious prayers. He then ceremonially cut the ribbon and opened the main temple's gate.

Following the auspicious traditional offering of tea and sweet rice, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche delivered an address explaining the significance and purpose of the inauguration. A formal long-life offering was then presented to Guru Vajradhara, after which he bestowed a special address and words of advice connected with the occasion. The ceremony concluded with offerings of sacred songs and dances in accordance with the unbroken lineage of visual transmission.

On the following day, after Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche bestowed teachings on the practice of the "Nectar of the Path," an elaborate ganachakra offering was held, during which a long-life offering was presented to Rinpoche. The celebrations concluded with performances of traditional and contemporary songs and dances presented by various groups.
