Nepal–Tibet Border On August 29, 2026, the third day following the devastating landslide and flooding in the area of the Kyirong border crossing on the Nepal–Tibet border, in accordance with the wishes and instructions of Guru Vajradhara His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, special prayers were conducted at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat in India and at its affiliated Palpung Yeshi Rabgye Ling Nunnery.

At both locations, ten thousand butter lamps were offered, and the khenpos, lamas, monks, nuns, and entire monastic communities gathered to pray for the welfare of all those affected by the devastating landslide, including those who lost their lives, remain missing, were injured, or were displaced from their homes.

For their benefit, the assemblies accumulated recitations of the name-dharani of Amitabha and the six-syllable mantra of Avalokiteshvara, and recited the Five Great Aspiration Prayers and the “Aspiration Prayer for Rebirth in the Pure Land of Sukhavati.” These recitations were accompanied by prayers of aspiration and dedication, while prayers continue to be made for the welfare of all those affected.
