On 19th of December 2007, a group of devotees from Hong Kong led by Lama Sonam and Lama Dawa from Thrangu Rinpoche’s Center in Hong Kong came to Delhi, on their way to Bodhgaya, and received blessings and a very essential teaching from Kenting Tai Situpa. The teaching is summarized as followed:

As a Buddhist going to Bodhgaya should have a very meaningful visit and not become just an excited tourist. First of all one should remember very clearly to pay homage to Lord Buddha with pure devotion because Buddha is fully enlightened and awakened.

Buddha is beyond any limitations and we are very limited.

Even we call ourselves Rinpoches, lamas, monks, nuns, Bikhus(Theravada Monks), Bikhunis, Yogis and Yoginis etc, still we all have enormous limitations if we dare to compare with Buddha.

Also this time you all are going to join Kagyu Monlam led by His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje; that means in Kagyu Monlam you will also receive lots of teachings from him. His Holiness himself is an embodiment of Buddha of Compassion (Avalokiteshovara) and all the Very Eminent Kagyupa Rinpoches gathered there are great Bodhisattvas too, so you have full opportunity to accumulate the great merits and receive the blessings from them as well as from all the Sangha and all the holy places which include the sacred Image of Lord Buddha, Boddhi Tree and everything around Bodhgaya.

To attend the realization of primordial wisdom (Buddhahood) for the purpose of benefiting all mother sentient beings is the most important aspiration you should generate at such a holy place at such a holy occasion.

Although you might not come out from Bodhgaya and get enlightened, but you are cultivated. From this point onwards, every difficult situations or every wonderful events in your life will become a journey towards enlightenment. (Kenting Tai Situpa has given these teachings with five steps which are described as five signs of being blessed.)
