Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa kindly transmitted the 37 aspects of the Mandala offering practice on October 13th, 2009. Mandala is the third of the four foundation practices (Ngondro). This practice creates an accumulation of merit without which, the further practice of Mahamudra and ultimately the path to enlightenment would be fraught with obstacles.

It is also of unlimited benefit to all sentient beings on their journey to Buddhahood. In general, without an adequate accumulation of merit there will always be various hindrances in life. This problem becomes acute when one wishes to practice Dharma. That is why accumulation is so vital for attainment. In fact the necessary accumulation is two-fold: the accumulation of merit and the accumulation of wisdom, but Mandala practice deals mainly with the accumulation of merit.
