According to the Tibetan calendar November 12, 2021, the 8th day of the 9th lunar month, marked the 40th mahaparinirvana anniversary of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, the master of the practice lineage teachings and the embodiment of Avalokiteshvara. To recall the life and qualities of the 16th Karmapa's three secrets, from 7 am to 6:30 pm on that day the Palpung Yeshi Rabgye Ling Nunnery's khenpos, the monastic seat's chanting master, and the nuns' community performed Gyalwang Rigpe Dorje's guru sadhana "Opening the Door to Wisdom" complete with an elaborate ganachakra offering and extensive aspiration prayers.
