At the request of Tergar International, the group of international centers established by Very Venerable Mingyur Rinpoche, Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa gave six days of teachings on the Kung Zangpo Monlam to a group of over 400 Rinpoches, tulkus, khenpos, sangha members as well as students from various countries.

About Kuntu Zangpo Monlam

The Kuntu Zangpo Monlam or Aspiration of Samantabhadra is a popular aspiration prayer from the Dzogchen tradition that comes from the ninth chapter of the tantra of the wide open mind of Samantabhadrais. It is one of the revealed treasures of the northern treasures of Guru Rinpoche. Kuntu Zangpo or Samantabhadra is also called the original Buddha. This means that ultimately he has never been obscured by any obscurations. The Kuntu Zangpo Monlam is an aspiration made by Kuntu Zangpo that all sentient beings who are as limitless as space may attain the state of buddhahood or Kuntu Zangpo.

As part of the 60th Birthday Celebrations of Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa from 9 – 11 March 2014, Guru Vajradhara was requested to give a one day overview of The Five Teachings of Lord Maitreya on the last day of the three day birthday celebration program. The teachings were given in Tibetan and English by Guru Vajradhara and translated into Chinese, French, Spanish and Russian.

About The Five Teachings of Lord Maitreya

The five teachings of Maitreya were entrusted to the great Indian practitioner, Asanga, in Tushita Heaven by Maitreya, the future Buddha. The five teachings are The Ornament of Realization (Abhisamayalamkara), Ornament of the Sutras (Sutralamkara), Discerning the Middle and the Extremes (Madhyanta Vibhanga), Discerning Dharmas and Dharmata (Dharmadharmata Vibhanga) and Light of Wisdom (Uttaratantra).
